SPAB Lethaby Scholarship (2010)
Andrew was privileged to have been awarded a SPAB Lethaby Scholarhsip in 2010, a nine month travelling scholarship visiting historic buildings undergoing repair, meeting skilled craftspeople and professionals engaged in conservation projects and even doing some hands-on work including plastering, thatching, timber framing, pointing and much more. As part of the programme he also had the opportunity to stay in a number of prestigious country houses learning about their history, development and management. There are some photographs below taken during the scholarship and you can find some of Andrew’s notebook sketches in the ‘Artwork’ section of this site.
The SPAB runs the scheme annually alongside its Fellowship programme (for craftspeople). See www.spab.org.uk for further information.
